ICT Needs Analysis

My institution
My school is a government primary school located in the eastern part of Singapore. It is a neighbourhood school  with about an enrolment of 1200 pupils between the ages of 7 and 12 years and a teaching staff of about 100 teachers.

Main question
In this needs analysis, I would like to find out the level of proficiency of teachers and students in the use of ICT in the teaching and learning of the English language.

Sources

1. About 40 current students in each level in the school.

2. Two teachers from every (about 10% of the teacher population)

Methods  and rationale:

1. Questionnaire
Data can be objectively quantified and is more objective and we are able to get it quickly.
2. Interview
It helps us to understand more about the teachers’ and students’ use of technology
in-depth and quantitative data can be further triangulated with the interview

  1. Knowing the level of proficiency in ICT is very useful and it could be one of the findings inside a more broad needs analysis. If you ask: What are the needs of ICT in our school. You could get more interesting answers (including what the levelof proficiency of teachers are).
That way you could find not only about their proficiency level but also whether they think they need more training, or new tools, or support, etc. - "I don't have it" what does "it" refer to?
Number 5 may be difficult. People cannot think of things they don't know. You may want to ask: "Which of the previous technologies would you like to learn to use.."
The rest are very good questions.

    For the survey:
    2. What do you use technology for outside the classroom? should be "What technologies do you use..."
